Timo Werner has joined Chelsea and will make his debut in FPL next season.

There’s a lot of talk about what his potential price could be so I thought I’d analyse and compare his stats and try to make an accurate judgement.

Werner 19/20 stats:

These stats are absolutely incredible.

To try and get an accurate prediction, I looked back at other big names who joined the Premier League after unbelievable seasons abroad.

The most accurate comparison we can make is with Aubameyang. In his final full season in the Bundesliga he was also incredible.

They both played for 3rd place teams in Bundesliga, Auba won the golden boot/Werner came second and they both made £50million moves to the Premier League.

It seems like the perfect judgement on what Werner’s price will be.

When Aubameyang joined in January 2018 he was priced at £10.5m, with his price moving up £0.3m in the half a season he was there - showing it was a reasonably accurate price.

Mortata’s price increased that season to £10.4m despite his poor form

Falcao’s price decreased that season to £10.3m

Costa and Lacazette’s prices remained pretty similar with Costa’s moving up to £10.6m and Laca’s moving down to £10.3m

This just goes to show how £10.5m is usually the right price for a striker coming into the PL for the first time, as they all ended up around that mark anyway.

If you hadn’t already guessed I believe Werner will be £10.5m this year. We never really know what to expect from a player coming from abroad but Werner has all the right attributes to succeed and I think anything below £10.5m would be a steal...

I also don’t think he’ll be any more as there’s always the chance of a young player like Werner taking a while to adapt to a new league and potentially underperforming.
