Well then you haven& #39;t seen the email my friend& #39;s sister received, essentially telling her that she hasn& #39;t donated enough money to "register" for confession at her parish

Beyond the appearance of simony here (or the actual substance of it), a major concern is how it& #39;s possible to maintain even the semblance of anonymity when you a) have to register and b) your name is then cross-referenced with the parish database (by a member of staff?)

FYI: My friend whose sister received this email is a priest and a canonist. This is being addressed.
