Disclaimer here that I& #39;m gonna talk about a more sensitive topic in this thread but while I& #39;m expressing a controversial view I& #39;ll still be sensitive about it so I& #39;d like to ask for tolerance and leniency.
If you have any disagreements, feel free to say them I don& #39;t mind.
If you have any disagreements, feel free to say them I don& #39;t mind.
But don& #39;t just reply with an insult or assume I have extreme beliefs after not reading the whole thing, in general don& #39;t be uncivil otherwise I& #39;ll try to be open minded.
So I& #39;d like to ask you in read it through fully and have an open mind while commenting.
So I& #39;d like to ask you in read it through fully and have an open mind while commenting.
I& #39;ll summarise my main point first:
I believe that racial prejudice and discrimination is a terrible act, no matter how much of it the individual or the individual& #39;s race receives.
Most people probably think this is true because two wrongs clearly don& #39;t make a right.

Most people probably think this is true because two wrongs clearly don& #39;t make a right.
But that mentality seemingly doesn& #39;t apply to the use of the n word. (The one with an "a" not "er" btw)
Firstly, I think the majority of people would agree that the n word has had a significant change over the last 200 years ago.
Its meaning and tone has changed drastically, it is used casually in a tonne of popular media, even the way it is spelled and pronounced has changed.
It has largely shifted to have neutral-positive correlations to reflect a great change in society.
It has largely shifted to have neutral-positive correlations to reflect a great change in society.
And frankly, I have no qualms about those who are still uncomfortable around the word as its roots were still part of a horrid culture and inhumane acts. It is just their problem concerning their feelings.
However, I do have an issue with those who only feel uncomfortable when people who aren& #39;t black say it (again the n word with an a not an er).
Automatically assuming someone to have the absolute worst of intentions from a word which is most often used casually and in a non-threatening manner because of the colour of their skin is genuine racial prejudice. Thus, stopping them because of it is racial discrimination.
People need to understand how great of a double standard the culture around the word entertains and what injustices are being made beliefs for their children.
Kinda a side point but the whole problem mostly from the community not having a consensus on whether or not the word has changed or not or if it split off from the original down the line.
And, of course, due to there being no official action possible for a slang word that is so polarizing.
But if there were a consensus, both options would most likely eliminate confusion and make the situation a lot better.
If the word is judged as still racist and abolished, there wouldn& #39;t be ambiguity as to who is racist or not and another more accepted word is used.
If it is recognised as changed, there would initially be more confusion but the "original" n word would be less and less effective as an insult over time and dye out as it would constantly be confused with the friendly and contrastingly positive version.
That& #39;s about it for my main thread and its points.
These are just my general thoughts on the topic and the reason why I tweeted it out is cause I simply feel it& #39;s arrogant and self-entitled to assume another& #39;s intentions of using a word based solely on skin colour instead of a value like their character or the context it was used
In. I& #39;m in no way trying to justify other racist shit or attempting to equate the two.
I& #39;d like this thread to at least affect one person positively. That& #39;d be worth any rude stuff people might say.
Anyway, if you& #39;d like to discuss it further I don& #39;t mind I could even be convinced otherwise but I don& #39;t think I& #39;ll be tweeting anything like this in a very long while
