In India we hold comedians to higher standards for jokes, than Politicians for the things THEY say AND do, and they aren& #39;t even joking.
Are you telling me that Indians in the middle of a pandemic with far greater problems are worried about JOKES on their religion? Rubbish. The whole thing is orchestrated, politically motivated & fuelled by regular people fooled by this. The online mob is large, vicious & organised.
How? Well,News Media is almost completely sold out.Few dare to publish the truth.Everyone is somehow busy defending Politicians.Comedians & Artists are the only people asking questions. This was the perfect opportunity to stifle free speech further, specifically, questioning govts.
Ironically, some of the comedians, now victims of their jokes & shady tweets from the past, contributed to the stifling of free speech & thought by not exercising enough restraint when posting online,& then apologising. Now everyone will want an apology for something or the other.
That said, when the mob jumps out from your phone, shows up at your door & you see people cheering this, what can you do ? All over JOKES & TWEETS. Yes, some maybe really unfunny, downright idiotic and not particularly insightful jokes. But still JOKES.Something is very wrong.
