"If you had that condition you wouldn& #39;t be able to do [x]" is one of the most pernicious & dismissive phrases in chronic illnessdom.
Do you know how often I see this exact exchange?
A: I& #39;m having these weird symptoms.
B: That sounds a lot like [diagnosis].
A: Oh, we ruled that out because my symptoms aren& #39;t very severe.
B: That& #39;s what I thought too until I realized that healthy people have ZERO symptoms.

Also like, a lot of people with chronic illness can *physically do* most things, but face severe consequences and thus try to avoid doing those things as a matter of survival.
What you are capable of forcing your body to do should not be relevant. https://twitter.com/bennessb/status/1274416807332532225?s=19">https://twitter.com/bennessb/...

Relevant, equally harmful corollary:
"If your symptoms were that bad you would already have a diagnosis."
Nope. That& #39;s not how it works. Not at all.
