We layered the limited audio released by Detroit police in the fatal shooting of Hakim Littleton over a more complete silent video to get a better sense of what happened. We then slowed down the video with added sound. Some have asked whether the final head shot was justified.

Police have said Littleton shot from the ground. That appears to happen a split second before the final head shot, as his body angles upward, you hear more shots, and an officer who may have been nearly hit scurries behind a vehicle for cover

It remains unclear as to whether Littleton was completely subdued before the head shot

what would give more complete picture is the body camera video from the officer on top of him — the "hero" as he& #39;s been described by Chief Craig. We& #39;ve requested this from the department.
