I& #39;ve thought about switching to a Music Major about four times now in my college career, and since school is being flipped on it& #39;s head and shoved inside out, this might be the thing that brings me peace in COVID times.
The cool Environmental Studies opportunities that made me intrigued to the major are cancelled. In Music, I would finish up my Theory training (a hell I need to live through to become a better musician), and sit in my room writing full, performable compositions.
Putting real energy and time to composing is something I& #39;m so scared to do, but something that really does seem so peacefully reasonable during this year of mess. The rest of my college experience would be turning this mess into music.
I would still need to figure out how to teach afterwards, because that& #39;s still incredibly important to me and teaching music isn& #39;t really the vibe. But to start these conversations, and to eventually maybe work in music.... it puts my heart in a restful position.
Just told my thoughts to my music professor that I’ve had since first year on Zoom. She really said “This is the BEST news!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D”

So, um, okay, I feel loved
