The @theRCN Trade Union Committee met on 1st July 2020 and have the following key messages to share with members
We noted the update on National Staff Council Trade Union position to bring forward the pay discussions in the light of the demands on the Health Service during the Pandemic
We approved comprehensive member engagement and communication plans to run alongside this pay work to help capitalise on both the current high levels of public support for nursing and engagement through the member survey.
We agreed plans for an important project to protect and strengthen access to facility time for trade union duties for our accredited reps to support the vital role they play for our members within the workplace.
We reviewed our Committee workplan and identified key pieces of work we would be prioritising over the next year within the context of the pandemic and agreed how we would report our progress to Council
We gave our feedback on the report from the independent governance review.
We welcomed an update from the new Director of Transformation, Innovation and Digital on his plans for improving the RCNs service offer to members utilising technological and digital innovation.
