Congratulations to the @NYCCouncil for successfully getting me to delete my tweet. I’ve gotten countless calls and messages from folks telling me how upset they are, including from a Post reporter saying the NYPD has been involved.

They’re elected officials with power. I’m 19.

I’m sorry there were threats issued towards members, and I apologize to any members who are NOs on the budget but got called anyways.

But I don’t apologize for holding officials accountable for police violence when they won’t pick up their damn phones. #DefundTheNYPD

I didn’t gather a single phone number. I simply passed along a list of numbers someone else compiled so that voters could contact their electeds.

The fact that the Council can’t handle a few calls is absolutely embarrassing and tells you everything you need to know about them.
