We have generational illiteracy in families. The kids come to school w/ & #39;word gaps& #39;. We& #39;re more offended w/ actual gaps than the sys that created them.
I don& #39;t know y& #39;all. I can& #39;t be at the top of my game teaching Math & Science if I have to try teaching Reading at same time.

Does anyone have a Reading Specialist in their bldg who actually...works with kids on Reading? Do they hold workshops for teachers?
Imagine what a school could accomplish if the Reading Specialist was OG trained????

READING SHOULD BE CONSIDERED HIGHER ORDER THINKING.
