I asked for help. I met those who I thought were really great writers and complained to them.
Some laughed and said it was normal to feel that way and that nobody’s first write-ups were magical. They told me I would get better with time. A.C
I browsed the internet for materials on how other writers dealt with this problem. I checked YouTube, Quora and several other sites. B. E.

I sought for encouragers and not critics. Criticism was the last thing I wanted at that stage. I’m glad I did. They pushed me and said really nice things about my works although a few still managed to sneak in some criticism.

I had a problem with vocabulary and using correct tenses. I used too many high-sounding words and they said it was boring and exhaustive.
I downloaded ebooks, audio books and podcasts that helped me tone down. English as a second Language is not so easy. I’m learning anyway. C.C
Mine was when someone I respect told me that most stories were clichès and that there was nothing I would write that no one already knew. I felt small and almost quit.
Joining a writers club did the magic! They said that no two writers tell the same story the same way. B. K.
When I started, I had tons of incomplete stories piling up in my system. It was very difficult for me to finish anyone.
I decided to create a timetable and stuck to it. Whenever it was time to write, I sit down and I start writing. Discipline does help. P.O.
I didn’t know about ‘writers block’ until a few months ago when I was asked to write about a trip from Nigeria to California.
There was nothing in my head. I had never gone there. Someone in my group mentioned research. That was all. I did it and the article came out nice. R. M.
Early on, I could hardly develop a character in my stories. I was practically frustrated. My stories were bland and lacked juice.
During one of our meetings in SYNW, the coordinator mentioned how powerful our observation helped with that. My stories have become better! F. C.
