Best news this morning: A student that a @TeachForMsia Fellow met in 2012 when he was in Form 4 has now graduated in Accounting and Finance from @SunwayU under the @JeffreyCheahFDN scholarship.

The student had the chance to intern both with @TeachForMsia and @PwC_Malaysia. On top of regular lessons, his TFM teacher mentored him and sent him for various enrichment programmes. He was candidate #1 for Closing The Gap MY. From 2As in PMR to 5As in SPM to >3.6 CGPA in STPM.
High potential students from low-income communities need a lot more support to overcome the systemic challenges they face. I& #39;m super inspired this morning but I& #39;m aware that he is graduating into a very depressed economy.
Yet, I& #39;m comforted that the @TeachForMsia movement and partners will support him through this. This is only one of a few hundred student that we actively tracked.
We don& #39;t have the scale and system to track and support thousands more that we work with. Back to work...

Oh - over the years I did try to recruit the student to be a TFM Fellow but he said being a teacher is too difficult as he remembers all of his classmates
