Zootopia is a film featuring a young woman who believes herself to be beyond the racial prejudices of her parents and goes off to be a police officer. https://twitter.com/Jarggy/status/1273539332674969606">https://twitter.com/Jarggy/st...
After successfully becoming an officer, she continues to ignore her own unconcious biases until she delivers a poorly-worded, deeply hurtful speech to the public which throws the entire city into a racist panic and ruins her only true friendship.
Only by acknowledging her own problematic thoughts and fears is she able to set things right and the city is able to slowly heal.
Zootopia isn& #39;t just a film about cute, cuddly animal people; it& #39;s a call-out against racism, both overt AND systemic. It shows the police force struggling with it as well and how far they too need to grow.

If anything, I& #39;d argue we need films like Zootopia now more than ever.
