ASM has already shown that he is one of the best dribblers in the World, managing to rack up a 63% dribble completion rate in PL games. Comparatively, Sadio Mané and Neymar have 61% completion rates each this season.
Continuing on the dribbling front, the range of skills in his locker are unmatched, making him very hard to defend against, as he is so unpredictable. He is also one of the fastest players going, leading to defenders being very embarrassed at times.
Now, time to debunk the common myth of ASM having no end product. He plays in the most defensive team itl, averaging 40% possession a game. There is also only one truly creative player in the entire squad (God Jonjo), which makes it very hard to consistently give service to Allan
ASM’s xG for this season is only 2.05, and he has scored 2 goals, which is basically a 1:1 ratio of goals to xG. Not bad eh? This shows how little service there is for him. Also his xA is 2.87, only having one assist which shows the incompetence of scoring in the rest of the side
His long shots have also been shown to be very good, the centrepiece being the brilliant strike vs Oxford in the FA Cup which no keeper would’ve saved. He has also come close on many occasions, striking the post or forcing a great save.
Allan’s importance to the side is also very understated, as when he is in the team, they seem to play much better, and when he was injured for a long stretch, the team went on a poor run of form, until he got back, which was when results improved again. Coincidence? I think not.
He is also a player who creates his own chances, making a goal or an assist out of nothing, such as when he chased down Valery and capitalised on his mistake to score, also when he rode many challenges to play an amazing ball to almiron vs West Brom
Saint-Maximin still needs to be unlocked by using him as the focal point of the team, creating more for him and giving him more attacking freedom and a better coach. His ceiling is a ballon d’or winner.
