You know, a lot of people slam learning the humanities but if world leadership ever paid attention to history and sociology these cycles wouldn’t keep happening. The parallels between what is happening in the USA and pretty much every other revolution—particularly the French—is
staggering. From a split between predominantly city revolutionaries and predominantly small-town “royalists” angry at being dragged into revolution, to being sparked by watching another country revolt that was supported by the home nation+economy-crashing natural disaster that
led to the government putting profits over lives, to even a completely out of touch “king” married to a glamorous but detached foreign queen.

protest and what “should” happen, no major revolution has ever happened without bloodshed, destruction, power-hungry opportunists taking advantage of a genuine movement, and numerous ideological divides on both sides. If you think looting is bad, remember that the French put

end, but the tidal wave is building and every time you try to stop it from hitting shore it only grows and the eventual fallout will be even more deadly. It is the responsibility of everyone in power-including the wealthy-to avert this disaster by actually helping and lifting
the oppressed. Ideologies, debt, and personal profit won’t matter when the nation collapses.

behavioral studies on animals related to humans.) Freaking learn from history and stop perpetuating this same story if you want to stay healthy and with any kind of power. If you value your wealth and status so much, you’ll take this hit and work for equality or lose everything.
Stop pretending the inevitable will be your grandkids’ problem and recognize it will be you if you do nothing. Ignoring a group’s humanity for long has always had dire consequences. Equality and empathy from those with the power to grant it is the only way to maintain peace.
