It& #39;s easy to point fingers at white people in America but to point the finger at the UK, my home, it hurts. I know how horrible the British Empire was and that I admit, but acknowledging the issues today is something I refused to do and I didn& #39;t realise I was doing it
If you, like me, have found yourself realising your ignorance and contribution to systemic racism, good. We need to stop getting defensive and start learning from our mistakes. There are things we can do, starting with listening to smart, outspoken black people

It& #39;s also vital that we acknowledge the extent of the problem and look at the faces of the victims of police brutality here in the UK. It is not just an American problem
