here’s how you know our world is fucked up; a thread of my own experiences and ones of my loved ones
1- irls younger sister ( they’re black) went to get a doll, and i asked why she didn’t get a doll that’s as beautiful as she is, like a black doll, and she tells me that black dolls are bad dolls, they lie and steal and hurt people. bro she was like what 7 at the time
2- in a neighborhood i lived, it was a predominantly black community, and bro the amount of times that the police would like just stalk my friends houses and or my friends, was just so damn much. like i remember once i went over to her house, and i was crying+
+ don’t really remember why, but the police guy that was near their house literally harassed my friends mom, and kept on insisting that she was holding me against my will. I was 4/5 and that wasn’t even my first time seeing racism against black people
3- irl worked at a supermarket, and police comes up and goes to her cashier thingy, and the police guy was just staring at her, anyways a little while after, she put her phone in her pocket, and the police dude just straight out starts calling her out for stealing.+
+ he cuffed her and even after that, when he was about to put her into his car, she started “ struggling” so he punched her, real hard. she was 16.
4- In elementary, we never had black teachers, so i asked my teacher why we only have white or asian teachers, why we don’t have any black ones . and the teacher goes ‘ well black people aren’t as smart’ bro i was literally in grade 3
i grew up literally always being told that black people were scary or their bad people, and at age 7 met one of my friends, she was the best person i could have ever asked for, like her whole family was just amazing, and she taught me that skin color does not matter+
+ she showed me so many white people who were just horrible, so many people of so many different ethnicities just hurting one another. she taught me that racism is just a tactic to divide us, because together we are too strong.
