Many human beings are driven by self-interest, so they don& #39;t care until something affects them personally. I am white and while I don& #39;t think riots are a long-term solution, I understand that this is a reaction to police brutality.

If you want riots to stop, police officers who abuse their authority need to be held accountable by the law. When you give them a slap on the wrist or try to make excuses for what they did, you& #39;re stoking racial tension.
