They killed bike share. Rather than make a one time $400k investment to keep it, they will instead spend god knows how much to tear it apart & then 150k/year, indefinitely, to warehouse the bikes under lock & key. #HamOnt will literally pay extra to stop people from riding.
It might feel like this takes the cake. But there& #39;s much to reflect on lately, like the sewage leak that lasted a few years, and then that whole thing with the Nazis, and that one time the gang fed one billion dollars cash directly into a woodchipper, so...keep it in perspective.
... this is so bad
Let& #39;s also not forget the people who will lose their jobs, people who have contributed countless hours year-round in all weather conditions to maintaining and improving our city& #39;s cycling network. The city effectively just voted to lay them off.
It& #39;s late. We& #39;re all tired and we can& #39;t afford to succumb to despair; together we can & will find new ways to look after each other and our town. SoBi reminded us all what we can build together if only we have a bit of courage & common sense. Onward.
