Feel like posting a thread of ALLLLLL the fucked up shit i saw police do durring my 2 years at occupy for all the people who think we can just up and change the problem on a whim. So this first thread will be about the raid they did at s.d. at 2 am.
We had roughly 150 people, the cops raided us at 2 a.m. (so nobody could see) they started by slicing every tent open with a razor, pulling us all out. Cops had us entirely circled with pepper spray paint ball guns, rubber bullets, and when when we got pulled out, a bunch were
Banging their sticks against their hands and laughing. I look to the left, and the cops were circled around my then 16 yo friend who was WAISTED. They were basically taking turns swinging at him, until one beat the ever loving fuck out of him, so they dog piled him
And proceeded to smack the fuck out of him with their weapons until he was legit concust. Then they were dragging my female friend out of her tent and she said "be careful i have piercings" so they GRABBED HER NOSE RING AND RIPPED IT OUT OF HER SKIN. at this point
Im already in cuffs and they are walking me back, on the way into the car, i mention my plastic cuffs are too tight, and they then tighten the FUCK out of them and all circle around laughing at me, making fun of a patch i had on my hoodie that said some random shit.
Once im in the car, i look over to see they are searching my friend with her body against a wall, and they find hash. They say "oh you got heroin" and she jokingly says "no its hash idiot" so what do they do? Put their forearm against her neck, grab a hand full of hair
And more than once bash her face into a concrete wall until she had a split forehead and a bloody nose. This raid rook roughly 2 hours to do, and you could see blood ALLL OVER the floor in front of the art center from all the people (mostly underaged teens) that they beat.
Btw they cleaned all that blood over night with bleach and the art center was up and running again as if nothing happened over the night. Then to make matters worse, they locked all 100 something of us in giant sherriff& #39;s busses, turned the heat on high, and left us inside for
No exaguration, 5 hours while they all sat outside laughing their asses off and making fun of us through the window. After five hours they drove us to the station as slow as possible, and left us locked in for another 4 hours until multiple people had pissed themselves.
This is just one story and im missing so much from it because it was so violent and insain that i have mentally blocked some of it out. This whole protest by the way was us setting up tents next to homeless people to keep the cops from taking their shit.
They used THAT serious of a reaction because we did that. I could EASILY make another thread or two of some even more fucked up shit from when we visited chicago (chicago police are THE most violent and scary police ive ever seen or dealt with in my life) and i probably will.
But the main point of this is to give an example to people when they say shit like "oh just get together and go change it" we have tried. Many times in the history of the united states. Lets not forget that in the 60s they actually MURDERED teens for protesting the war.
The problem is INSAINLY AND DEEPLY ENTRENCHED within our minds and our governments that it takes so much to change that its seamingly impossible to change until public officials agree on it.
