This is the raised bed where the potatoes will grow. I need to put down a weed barrier (cardboard), fill with soil, plant and mound the potatoes, and mulch.

The grass has been removed. Time for the weed barrier to go in (the cardboard will breakdown and the potato roots will find their way through).

Let& #39;s arrange some spuds! These potatoes are a little bit crowded, but they& #39;re about a foot apart and will likely be harvested as new potatoes so they won& #39;t need their full growing space.

With the potatoes in the ground, time to mulch over the bed to help with water retention (this bed is full sun).

Bonus #ERolfsPotatovard content - grass from the boulevard has been transplanted to a bare spot in the back yard. Even if none of this grass takes root it& #39;ll be a success because we filled a low spot in the yard.
I& #39;ll plan to harvest these spuds in about 90 days. Once the plant is about 5 or 6 inches above the mulch I& #39;ll need to mound/hill the potatoes. And then more waiting.
I& #39;ve never grown potatoes before.

Day 3 of #ERolfsPotatovard. No green shoots yet, but here& #39;s your first ever look from the street.
Related to #ERolfsPotatovard, here is my alley garden between garages of peas and beans (also yet to sprout).
16 days in and 14/15 potatoes are sprouted. Probably another week or 10 days before I have to hill them. #ERolfsPotatovard
Added some grass clippings this afternoon. Need to properly hill these spuds in about a week, I& #39;d guess.

And today we hilled the potatoes! We added mounds of dirt around each plant and then fresh clippings. #ERolfsPotatovard
The grass clippings form a sort of mat, that will help keep the sun off of the potatoes and will sort of push up and stay in place as the potatoes start to grow.

It& #39;s sort of hard to see the incremental progress right now, but after I threw a LOAD of grass clippings into the potatoes, walking down the sidewalk you can really see how high the mulch is and how high the spuds are growing. #ERolfsPotatovard
The spuds continue to grow. Some moderate damage when my neighbor ran a minibike right through #ERolfsPotatovard.
Almost all of the potato plants are down and dying, that means it is almost time to harvest. Between now and the first frost these should come out of the ground. How many pounds of potatoes do you think are in #ERolfsPotatovard?
It looks like the critters are getting wise to the spuds. Might need to harvest. Haven& #39;t figured out a storage solution yet. Better get on it. #ERolfsPotatovard – bei Folwell Park
I& #39;m pretty confident I can almost get a full bucket of spuds. Started with 15 sprouted potatoes this spring. #erolfspotatovard
Some plants have significantly more potatoes than others. This one was probably the best producer. #erolfspotatovard
Now we put the potatoes in a cool place for 10ish days to let the skins dry out a bit before storage. The cool place is a table in my garage. #ERolfsPotatovard
While we wait for the potatoes to dry, what can only be described as, "aggressive weed whipping," has cleaned up the boulevard in the aftermath of #ERolfsPotatovard
