Does he think he can win an election with only the votes of the 40% of Americans who are implacably loyal to him? Doesn& #39;t he realize that there are few centrists — precisely those people without whose votes he cannot win — who aren& #39;t turned off by this kind of childishness?

Like all narcissists, though, it& #39;s all about his own needs and insecurities, and never about something greater than himself, which, if you& #39;re the president of a powerful country, is probably the worst character trait imaginable.

Republicans, if they want to win — and one would hope that& #39;s their goal — have to realize that while this type of rhetoric fires up the true believers, it kills support among other people who don& #39;t give a damn about the partisan binary, and just want to see good governance.
