I wish there was an acknowledgement of the wider loss to vulnerable & elderly people. The focus has been entirely on able-bodied activities but so many of us relied on specific communal spaces to get out of the house at ALL before all this. And they won& #39;t be back any time soon.
Our squashed little community centres, church hall groups etc. We& #39;re not just losing our lives, even after isolating and shielding, we& #39;re losing longer-term freedom, independence, community, company. It& #39;s a devastating change.
My community centre was the only place I could get to on my own. I don& #39;t know how long it& #39;s going to be before it& #39;s safe for groups of vulnerable folk like us to be in a room together. Excited talk of "where will you go now?" hurts. Even if it were safer, I have nowhere TO go.
