i have always seen the comparisons of Hiro to Kyo, but I also think Hiro reflects Shigure as well. Shigure remains childish while Hiro wants to grow up as soon as he can. What I also don’t feel as talked about as often are the words Shigure says in regards to what had happened

Shigure in a way is reminded through Hiro that he was also powerless, and cowardly when regards to his actions and hurting Akito. He could’ve fought his way, he could’ve made made her hurt in ways that wasn’t leaving her defenseless over sleeping with Ren, like Hiro he accepted.
