When anti-racism education is introduced, there& #39;s always people who try to diminish the work by stating:

"We don& #39;t have any Black students at this school."
"We don& #39;t have any Black students in this neighbourhood."

These statements are very problematic

*They negate how complex identity is. Did u know that some Black ppl "pass" as White?
*Do you imagine the White ppl present have no relationships w Black ppl?
*Do Black ppl need to be present for white supremacy to matter?

*The focus on Black peoples& #39; presence diverts attention away from the fact that White people need to learn about anti-racism work and address racism.
*It ignores the fact that White students want to learn about anti-racism too!
