Today, we released a report along with a searchable database revealing the extent developer money plays in city politics.

In #Ottawa 2018 municipal elxn, those connected to development industry contributed nearly 1/2 of all donations to those elected 1/3 https://development.money"> https://development.money 

Many of the City& #39;s top politicians took this money.

Including @JimWatsonOttawa who took over 200k, Planning Chair @BarrhavenJan whose developer donors made up 96% of contributions and @AllanHubley_23 whose campaign was almost completely funded by the industry at 99% 2/3

We hope our data can be used as a tool to keep members of council accountable but also to spur discussion around campaign finance reform which is desperately needed in our City.
