With last week being mental health awareness week, it made me think; despite everyone preaching about mental health on Social Media, lots of people still don’t really care about their mates’ mental well-being, until it’s far too late. This is especially present when in groups.
It’s very easy to put on a fake smile, laugh, and “seem normal” to others, but deep down, their comments can eat at them from inside. The mind is 100% the most powerful part of a human being, but it is also the most dangerous part too, if it is not treated properly.
Always been of the opinion that, in most instances, those who are first to criticise others, are ones who are unhappy in their own lives. And in honesty, a lot of that happens on Social Media. That’s why I don’t really post on here, because it becomes toxic & in a way, snakey...
I wouldn’t say something about someone else behind their backs, that I wouldn’t say to their face; that’s my motto in life, and I stick by it. If you are one of those people who would say things behind my back that they wouldn’t say to my face, you are part of the problem.
I think until people really change their way of thinking, and their mindset when it comes to this, instead of taking the piss and acting as if it won’t affect those they’re “targeting”, mental health issues will continue to rise across the world.
Thankfully, I’m thick skinned when it comes to that, but other people may not be as lucky. If lockdown has taught us anything, anything at all, it is that everyone’s health is paramount & that includes mentally as well as physically. Bit of a ranty post, but it needed to be said.
If you’re still reading this post up to this point, I hope you’ve learned something new. If you want to make a change, message someone, anyone, could be a close friend, a distant friend, or someone you don’t know & talk to them. It may seem simple, but talking really does help.
