#AvatarTheLastAirbender (A thread) 13 years ago, I was a senior in high school. Peers and others used to snicker at me because I still watched Nickelodeon. At that time, a show came out, that really shaped a generation.
In order to avoid potential ridicule I never really talked about it, and never set my schedule to it& #39;s release, but I watched a few episodes. A few years later a movie was released based on the show, and I saw it in excitement.
Although the movie wasn& #39;t good, I was able to openly express I liked it because it was live action, and "adults were allowed to watch it". Shortly after, Netflix streaming had the show and I started my first binge, but never got past a few episodes, and was eventually taken off.
Finally this year, this past week, Netflix re-released Avatar: The Last Airbender on streaming. A show much needed, a show about honor, courage, love, and hope, during one of the most frightening times of many of our lives.
I finally got to sit down and watch the show I started so long ago, and am I so mad it took me this long to watch it. From the wonderful voice acting, beautiful story telling, and fantastic animation, this "cartoon" is a show for everyone.
