My Gran, an "illegitimate" child of a Welsh mine office "girl" and who knows, was taken on as a protege with other kids by an English Lord at the turn of last century, educated and exposed to art/culture. His Tory class pilloried him to the grave as a spendthrift waster for it.
My Gran went on to be one of the first women to graduate from Cardiff Uni in the early 1920s, A Teacher of English and Classics, spoke 5 languages fluently, as politically savvy as you get and a lifetime of fighting those Tory bastards! A great woman.
Gran had twins, one a chronic snob, the other like her Mum a maverick, take no prisoners activist every day of her life, my Aunty. Still occupying trees and feeding demonstrating activists soup at 75. Lifelong Union, married to lifelong Union. They couldn& #39;t be any more different.
Anyway, Lord Tredegar, it was a brilliant investment, you would& #39;ve been so proud of her, as I am.
Anyway, TY for tolerating this indulgence, I loved my Gran so much and I want tell people how bldy brilliant she was. Thanks Gran, I& #39;ll always miss you.
