Me: I need to be able to transfer, sit up, and take my dog out twice a day when I go home.
Nurse: Where are you going when you are discharged? Home, home?
Me: Yes.

Nurse: Has anyone tried to convince you to go to a short-term rehab?
Me: Not this stay, and if that does happen I will regard it as homicidal.

This is just completely unacceptable.
Last hospitalization (also during COVID-19) they tried twice. I& #39;ve overheard them talking at least 2 people into facilities.
Congregate settings are always risks for infection, abuse, and neglect. Now it& #39;s worse.

For some people, sometimes, they are the best option available -- and that& #39;s a failure of public policy.
But talking someone into a COVID deathtrap if there is any other alternative -- and I have a good one -- is nakedly homicidal.
