Did you see that some of us from the group who organised the open letter to UKRI, funders and universities about the absence of reasonable adjustments for disabled students wrt to COVID were in the Guardian? https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/may/21/were-being-fobbed-off-why-disabled-students-are-losing-out-in-lockdown?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other">https://www.theguardian.com/education...
Here’s the open letter in question - please read, sign and share, and if you’ve already done that, help us reach the weekend crowd and give it another share would you please? https://forms.gle/18xycEgyCB1u6xGb7">https://forms.gle/18xycEgyC...
We’ve had quite odd responses from just UKRI so far, including two emails to only the person who sent the letter to them despite that email copying in all organisers and supporters who have not been included in replies, and someone from UKRI Comms & PR trying to cold call them
Both emails from UKRI make quite a big deal out of the 2nd letter, which we haven’t finished because we’re all literally sick and tired.
But since UKRI won’t just lead on this, we have more to do this week.
Keep ur eyes peeled, & sign/share the letter! https://forms.gle/18xycEgyCB1u6xGb7">https://forms.gle/18xycEgyC...

See how this works though? Disabled students, inc those at high risk from COVID and who have suspected cases of it, weren’t even mentioned til we said so.
Now we’ve said something, despite being poorly & under lots of pressure, requesting reasonable adjustments isn’t enough.
