#Scorpions are my favorite band, so I’ve taken special interest in the new #WindofChange podcast by @praddenkeefe. In Ep. 3 he makes the argument that WoC was band’s 1st political-themed song and didn’t fit the mold. I wonder if he listened to Crossfire during research?
https://youtu.be/jdAHTISl4mU ">https://youtu.be/jdAHTISl4... How could one make that argument with this song in the catalogue? And this came seven years before Wind of Change, on the same album as Rock You Like a Hurricane.
I’ll keep this thread going with stuff that makes me roll my eyes as a #Scorpions fan. Ep. 5 notes that “Virgin Killer” was the band’s “biggest” album up until ‘89. Not even close. But “Virgin Killer” just sounds the most alarming to help prove the point, right? “ #WindofChange
Also, in Ep. 4 it’s portrayed as a huge “ah-ha!” moment when the GI-Joe toy guy mentions the story about kids making bootleg cassettes. That story is told in From Russia with Love and Other Savage Amusements, so it wasn’t really a big deal. #WindofChange
