Good morning space-people!

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Milky Way" aria-label="Emoji: Milky Way"> I& #39;ll post some of my own favourites (including some movies which I think are underrated) but I would love to hear- what are your favourite sci-fi movies/tv shows/ books
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Grinning face" aria-label="Emoji: Grinning face">?
Okay so I have to start with my current favourite- & #39;The Expanse& #39; @ExpanseOnPrime! (Both the tv series & the books-
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Books" aria-label="Emoji: Books"> @JamesSACorey, @AbrahamHanover). I LOVE this series for the amazing characters & the portrayal of human struggles & inequalities as we expand into space
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Milky Way" aria-label="Emoji: Milky Way">
Naturally as a Mars person, I love the

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π½οΈ" title="Film projector" aria-label="Emoji: Film projector"> of & #39;The Martian& #39;!!
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π΄" title="Red circle" aria-label="Emoji: Red circle">. To me, it& #39;s a warm, funny, & #39;realistic& #39; (ish
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Winking face" aria-label="Emoji: Winking face">) look at what a real humans-to-Mars programme might look like, + problem-solving when that goes wrong "I& #39;m going to have to science the sh*t out of this."
One of my favourite movies ever is & #39;Sunshine& #39;. It sometimes gets a bad review, & I understand criticisms of the latter 3rd, but I personally
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="β€οΈ" title="Red heart" aria-label="Emoji: Red heart"> it. It portrays an international crew on a spaceship & explores the psychological aspects of space travel (+ has a great score

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πΌ" title="Musical score" aria-label="Emoji: Musical score">).
I really love βPassengersβ
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Milky Way" aria-label="Emoji: Milky Way">. Yes, I guess itβs very much Hollywood-does-space, but I like the exploration of what it would mean to be alone on an interstellar voyage across space- how that would feel, the decisions you& #39;d make. Also, the shots of the spaceship are amazing!

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Rocket" aria-label="Emoji: Rocket">
So I haven& #39;t seen it in years, but I really liked & #39;Pandorum& #39;! This is sci-fi horror, but again the reason I like it is because it gets into the psychological effects of space travel. (It was originally set to have a prequel + sequel, but unfortunately that never happened
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Disappointed face" aria-label="Emoji: Disappointed face">)
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π" title="Milky Way" aria-label="Emoji: Milky Way">
Finally, Iβll end with two classics. First, the & #39;Alien& #39; movies!
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π½" title="Extraterrestrial alien" aria-label="Emoji: Extraterrestrial alien"> in particular the 2nd movie (& #39;Aliens& #39;), but they& #39;re all great. I love the character of Ellen Ripley
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πͺ" title="Flexed biceps" aria-label="Emoji: Flexed biceps">
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π©βπ" title="Woman astronaut" aria-label="Emoji: Woman astronaut">
And lastly, & #39;Contact& #39;! I both read the book and watched the film for the first time within the past year, and they& #39;re both excellent in their own way (there are some significant differences between the two)
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="π‘" title="Satellite antenna" aria-label="Emoji: Satellite antenna">
I personally think this last one is science fiction (and by extension, science) at its best: international cooperation, the βunknownβ, & what that means for us as humans. So tldr; in this thread I& #39;ve listed some of my favourite sci-fi films/TV. I& #39;d love to hear yours
