the title, & #39;Nowhere is safe for us& #39; is a phrase taken from a Syrian mother, quoting her young daughter. They had been driven from their homes, then the camps they fled to were targeted. What the girl actually said was & #39;Why doesn& #39;t God kill us. Nowhere is safe for us.& #39;
Amnesty understandably took out the God bit, so as not to reduce the impact of the girl& #39;s words.

May God have mercy on your soul, as priests & judges have traditionally said, then blessed the guns or passed sentence of death.
