Richard Pusey bail application is about to begin in Melbourne Magistrates& #39; court. Pusey is in the dock with SESG guards. They& #39;re a specialised security group usually used for more dangerous prisoners. He is wearing a mask and gloves. @7NewsMelbourne
Police say Pusey filmed the scene for approximately three minutes and eight seconds. It& #39;s alleged he zoomed in on different parts of the scene and made derogatory remarks throughout the video.
Police allege they found text messages on Pusey& #39;s phone where he was bragging to a mate about doing 300kmph on the Eastern Freeway a month before the crash. & #39;I did 300 in the turbo yesterday it was amazing man& #39; @7NewsMelbourne
Police say Pusey & #39;takes a disturbing pleasure in causing others fear and discomfort.& #39; They say there is a real concern he would & #39;commence a campaign of harassment and intimidation& #39; against witnesses if he found out who they were. @7NewsMelbourne
Pusey& #39;s lawyer on his feet. Says Pusey was & #39;bantering& #39; with the officers in the moments before the crash and while his client didn& #39;t help the officers..others did. Lawyer: what else could he do? Informant: Well, he could comfort someone who was dying. @7NewsMelbourne
This exchange:
Informant: he could& #39;ve been administering CPR
Pusey& #39;s Lawyer: well, you’d have to be trained in CPR
Informant: your client is a registered nurse. @7NewsMelbourne
Court told Pusey had a device called a ‘blinder’ installed on his car. It ‘jams’ police signals and stops its speed being detected. Lawyer says: that car is gone and won’t be seen for a while. Informant: yes, but he has another high powered Porsche in the garage. @7NewsMelbourne
