This is a serious thread discussing why we are defending Brendon Urie, and what exactly is going on. I’m going to be touching on everything I know about these situations, and if I’ve forgotten anything, that’s on me and I’ll be sure to add it.

Before we start this thread I am going to be saying this now; some topics we are going to be discussing are very serious and could trigger somebody, therefore I am putting a TRIGGER WARNING right here and will also put a TW on those specific tweets. Thank you. |

Brendon said a transphobic slur. This is true. However, he has since apologized for this situation, and was genuinely disgusted to find out what the word meant. (Context: he was quoting a story where somebody used used this word, and had no idea what it meant at the time)

In this story, the original person he was quoting was being transphobic and panphobic, and Brendon expressed discomfort in this fact and was genuinely offended by it.

Brendon is not transphobic and is, in fact, a huge advocate for LGBT+ rights. Not once has he ever shown discomfort from transgender people. There are multiple examples of him discussing transgender topics where this rings true.

People are claiming that Brendon has sexually assaulted Ryan Ross. This is not true and here’s why; Back when Panic! was touring, they did stage acts like a lot of bands at the time did. In these stage acts, kisses were exchanged between Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross.

Everybody in the acts consented to what would happen on stage. In this tweet it is mentioned that the shows were an act and were, in fact, scripted.

Ryan has never come forth and said he felt uncomfortable in these situations. He has never said that he felt Brendon was pushing himself onto him, or that it was non consensual. When asked about this in an interview, he mentioned that it was all in good fun.

((Unless Ryan Ross personally comes forth with a statement about whether or not he felt this was assault, we cannot and should not speak for him.))

These kinds of acts were later named “Stage Gay” and happened with a lot of similar bands, of which Brendon has since stopped doing and these acts haven’t occurred since. |

For this topic we are going to be discussing Racism. Years back, Brendon ranted on stage on how he wished he was black. In a vine back around year 2014, Brendon recorded himself lip-syncing a song which had the n word in it. An incident like this has not occurred since, and he has been seen on multiple occasions skipping over the word in covers or when singing on stream.

((It’s up to you whether or not you believe this was racist, as views on this matter are mixed.))

Recently he went under fire for “racist remarks against Puerto Rican people”. To add context to this situation; Michael and Danny Lopriore are two Puerto Rican brothers who sometimes do comedy skits on twitch, where they act like “two Ratchet Puerto Rican girls”.

Brendon saw this skit and was later on stream joking around with Michael and Danny in chat, where he discussed what he thought their names would be for two “Ratchet Puerto Rican girls”. Both brothers have come forth in his defense. |

Many people are claiming that Brendon has fetishized bisexual women. Here is what went down; around the time girls/girls/boys was made, Brendon discussed why the song came into fruition. With the help of Dallon Weekes, they wrote the song together.

Apparently in the song, Dallon wrote for his wife (who identifies as either bi, pan, or doesn’t have a label). Brendon himself was touching on the topic of his first threesome, hence the director’s cut having two women approach him, and then shows them kissing.

(Later on, after the song’s release, fans took it as a bisexual anthem and the meaning of it was changed. Brendon rolled with this, thinking it was a much better message, and the song now stands as a bisexual/LGBT anthem.)

He has said that he finds it attractive that Bisexual women could find confidence and pride in their sexuality. Never did he fetishize bisexual women.

In one clip, he talks about ‘barsexuality’ and says “maybe not bisexual but barsexual” when discussing (I believe) two women making out at a bar. I may be wrong about this so take it with a grain of salt. |

Many years back at a show, Brendon was heard saying “if I see you after the show I’m going to fuck you” or something along these lines. This of course was a very shitty joke of which he has not made any of this kind since.

It’s important to note that the audience was, in fact, 18+ and there were no minors at the show. He was not making any of these jokes with minors in the audience. I believe shows at this time were all 18+.

I do not know if there is an apology for this joke. Also, please note that he’s not made any of these kinds of jokes since then and knows it’s wrong. | !!!SECOND HALF COMING SOON!!!

There’s a couple of vines people are using as evidence for Brendon being misogynistic. These vines are jokes, and are in no way meant to demean women. He has never shown to be sexist/misogynistic, and actually finds it disgusting when men act that way towards women.

In one vine, he jokes about girls showing their tits. It may sound tasteless but know that Brendon is pansexual, and it’s not unusual or offensive for him to like boobs. In another vine, he asks his wife, Sarah Urie, to “beer him” in which she then hands him a beer.

He then says “marriage”. This was not a misogynistic joke, it was a marriage joke. Not once did he ever mention her gender in the vine or make it about women. |

Now, we are going to be discussing some serious accusations thrown Brendon’s way, and why these accusations are not only false, but extremely harmful to Brendon’s life and career.

Recently, many people have started to accuse Brendon of things such as luring fans to hotel rooms and raping them. People are also accusing him of being a pedophile and claim that he identifies as Pansexual because “Pansexuality includes children.”

These accusations are baseless and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest he’s committed any of these acts. Making such claims without proof is absolutely disgusting and not only can ruin an innocent man’s life++

++ but also furthers skepticism when someone has actually been the victim of rape or other such acts.

False accusations are extremely damaging to real victims and should be treated like a crime. Nobody should be falsely accusing anybody of such things!

Also, It’s important to note the definition of Pansexuality: Pansexuality, is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. ++

++Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.

Not anywhere in the official definition of Pansexuality does it include children or, as some have started saying, animals. Not only is this lie harmful to Brendon, it’s also extremely harmful to anyone who identifies as Pansexual. |

And finally, I’m going to quickly add some things on the topic of other drama he’s involved in. I wanted the main focus of this thread to be the major things he’s under fire for. \\

It’s come to my attention he may have made fat shaming jokes. If so, that is NOT OKAY. However, please note that his views, if this is true, have most definitely changed.
