Cool! Day 1: The Doors https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ˜‚" title="Face with tears of joy" aria-label="Emoji: Face with tears of joy"> my parents still talk about how I was probably way to young to see it but they wanted to and sometimes it’s hard to find someone to watch a two year old. Had no idea what was going on but I knew the songs! https://twitter.com/bbcgarcia/status/1256476855961448449">https://twitter.com/bbcgarcia...
Day 2: If we’re using F then I’ll go with Fargo but if you insist on M then let’s say... Muppet Treasure Island!
Day 3: I’m assuming this is a film that has more than five words in the title? If so: Bad Times at the El Royale. I think this was a few choices away from being the next great cult classic, and I want more films like this.
Day 4: A movie with a number in the title... of course it’s gonna be STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Somehow this movie means more to me now then when it exploded my mind as a child. It’s as comforting as a home cooked meal or what I imagine hugging Chewie is like
Day 5: the Movie Chef is my dream job scenario, not because of the food truck necessarily, although that’s a huge part, but that he was working in food, quit and still had the disposable income and time to make the truck happen https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ˜‚" title="Face with tears of joy" aria-label="Emoji: Face with tears of joy">
Day 6: Favorite animated film is TOUGH!

Let’s go Iron Giant... I think that keeps me clear of recency bias, almost completely skirts the traditional/3D discussion, and is also one of the best movies of all time. Look at this and remember!
(Guess who forgot about this for a minute https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😭" title="Loudly crying face" aria-label="Emoji: Loudly crying face">)

Day 7: A movie I’ll never get tired of.. probably the Matrix? I know it’s not the best or the most rewatchable of all the rewatchable, but I just can always put it on, pick it up from any spot and I’m always in!
Day 8: a movie where I liked the soundtrack more... Bringing out the Dead. Throw some Clash songs at me and I’m in and that’s just the half of it!
Day 9: a film I hate that everyone else likes! I’m trying to get away from this kind of thinking but... Saturday Night Fever? It might just be watching it now as opposed to then but it’s kind of gross and I kind of hate it.
Day 10: My favorite Super Hero film... there was a time when it was easy because there were like 5 good movies. This is another spot where Spider-Verse could go but I think Winter Solider is... in second place to Spider-Verse!
Day 11: I suppose of the broader genres my least favorite is Romance but I do really love West Side Story but it’s feels like a cheat because it’s a musical.
Day 12: the hardest part about this is deciding my favorite genre... if Hollow Man is sci-fi then that’s a movie I hate from one of my favorite genres?! It’s just weird and gross and not fun.
Day 13: Every now and again I think about the Florida Project for a good hour or so, I think about knowing people like that, aspects of my life that were on screen like long forgotten memories. It feels like my Sliding Doors sometimes.
Day 14: I can’t blame any film for giving me depression, that’s a lot to put on my favorite pasttime. I know it’s not meant to be depressing necessarily but Moana came out pretty soon after my Grandma passed, so the Grandma storyline sent me into a evening long tailspin.
Day 15: A film that makes me feel happy... 10 Things I Hate About You is just such a good movie that makes me genuinely smile almost the entire movie. Happy and hopeful on first viewing and warm and fuzzy with nostalgia now!
Day 17: My favorite sequel is probably a lot of people’s favorite and possibly THE best sequel of all time: The Empire Strikes Back. I know it seems obvious but it’s the first sequel I remember seeing and it was such an elevation in story telling.. it can’t be overstated.
Day 18: A film that stars my favorite actor or actress... Viola Davis is just always so good so I feel compelled to shout out Widows which I really feel was overlooked and under hyped. Really just a great entry in genre that just got lost.
Day 19: a film by my favorite director... we’ve already got Shaun on this thread but damn if Hot Fuzz isn’t a movie that gets better every single time I watch it! Possibly a perfect movie?
Day 20: A film that changed my life... Princess Mononoke comes to mind. I would’ve seen this when I was like 10-11, just about to go into middle school. I didn’t think about movies as more than entertainment, particularly ā€œcartoonsā€ but it changed all of that.
Day 21: I can honestly say, even bad movies, I’ve never dozed off in. I can barely fall asleep watching movies I’ve seen a dozen times! But a friend of mine did audibly snore when we saw Speed Racer in theaters, so I’ll count that https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ˜‚" title="Face with tears of joy" aria-label="Emoji: Face with tears of joy">
Day 22: A film that makes me angry... this is tough, this makes me wish I’d had Letterboxd my whole life so I could go back and see what really pissed me off. It might feel prisoner of the moment but the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie was infuriating. Shoutout to @Tateland
Day 23: A film made by a director that is dead is kind of an aggressive phrasing https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ˜‚" title="Face with tears of joy" aria-label="Emoji: Face with tears of joy"> I think Tony Scott is kind of underrated, understandably so when your brother made Alien but Man on Fire is one of my favorite movies, a sleeper Denzel classic.
Day 24: Something I wish I’d seen in theaters... I’m going to leave obvious classics from before I was born out of this. So, let’s go, Saving Private Ryan. I have to think anything with big visceral battle scenes is more arresting on the big screen.
Day 25: I’m a sucker for a period piece, so a movie a like from another era... so many good recent ones too... but let’s go King’s Speech for the cast alone!
Day 26: A movie adapted from something: I already did 10 Things I Hate About You in this thread... Clueless is also great... O Brother Where Art Thou though is so great.
