People who think the word is unnecessary have probably not talked about trans issues much. I find myself needing a word for "non-trans" often because the issue is often about cis people& #39;s attitudes or whether cis women& #39;s rights are threatened.
Some of you will say that that still doesn& #39;t make it necessary as you can just say "people" and "women" to mean "not trans" & reserve the qualifier for trans people who are the minority & the outliers but this necessarily implies that trans people are not people or women.
