Because North Korea and Kim Jong Un are trending right now, here& #39;s a thread about the DPRK; an amazing country that you know absolutely nothing about yet are still taught to absolutely loathe it to the point of supporting its overthrow and continued US intervention.
The US war on Korea absolutely devastated the country, killing about 20% of the population. Their capital was demolished into the ground. However after the war, People& #39;s Korea went upon a path of reconstruction to rebuild what the US destroyed.
The country& #39;s founder Kim Il Sung and the Korean Worker& #39;s Party led the charge in mobilizing the masses into rebuilding what was lost, with Chinese, Soviet, and East German assistance. In the 1960& #39;s, the DPRK was called the economic miracle of east Asia.

Western outlets are hellbent on making the DPRK out to be this militaristic regime, but you would be surprised to know that on multiple ocassions Kim Jong Un has expressed the need for peace between the US and the DPRK, and the need for denuclearization. https://www.nknews.org/2016/01/n-korea-reiterates-need-for-peace-treaty-with-u-s/">https://www.nknews.org/2016/01/n...
If the DPRK wants peace, why does it hold onto their nukes and show off their military capabilities? Because they know that nuclear deterrence works, and without it, the US would& #39;ve held a second invasion of the DPRK, continuing where they left off. https://liberationschool.org/06-10-20-korea-crisis-from-1994-until-to-html/">https://liberationschool.org/06-10-20-...
That until the US releases the economic sanctions, retreats their occupation of troops from the Korean peninsula, and establishes a peace treaty with the country, the DPRK will never relax their military development. https://worldbeyondwar.org/%ef%bb%bf-whats-really-behind-north-koreas-nuclear-provocations/">https://worldbeyondwar.org/%ef%bb%bf...
Why is the US interested in the DPRK? For starters, the DPRK is sitting on top of trillions of dollars worth of minerals. It also serves as a geostrategic location, being under Russia and next to China. http://www.mining.com/largest-known-rare-earth-deposit-discovered-in-north-korea-86139/">https://www.mining.com/largest-k...
Historically, and to this day, the DPRK has been a friend to liberation movements around the globe, lending either economic or military support. This article gets into the DPRK& #39;s historical relations with Africa. https://journal-neo.org/2016/03/18/north-korea-punished-for-helping-to-liberate-africa/">https://journal-neo.org/2016/03/1...

Name anything you& #39;ve heard about the DPRK, literally anything. this article will show you that you are wrong and that you are being taught to hate the DPRK when you know absolutely nothing about it. https://sputniknews.com/analysis/201803021062166494-north-korea-loretta-napoleoni/">https://sputniknews.com/analysis/...
Here are some of the more wild lines of propaganda against the DPRK that have been exposed as lies, such as people dying but coming back to life a week later, mandated haircuts, and landing on the sun. https://anti-imperialism.org/2014/08/14/western-dprk-propaganda-the-worst-occasionally-hilarious-and-often-racist-lies/">https://anti-imperialism.org/2014/08/1...
