I have a sister who is vaguely liberal but not very politically active. She can tell Trump is a bozo and has good instincts, just isn& #39;t very interested in politics. Out of nowhere yesterday she said, "I wish Andrew Cuomo could be president, I don& #39;t think Joe Biden is up to it."
This tells me a couple of things:
1.) Regular people are ready to be energized by literally anyone who can go on TV and be even a little bit competent with the right amount of fire-in-the-belly indignation. My sister had no idea who Andrew Cuomo was like two weeks ago.
2.) Joe Biden& #39;s "hide and hope no one notices" act is unsettling, even to people who are only barely paying attention.
3.) Progressives have a major obstacle which is that most MSM won& #39;t cover a random AOC press conference, but there should be major thought/effort going in to how to get progressive voices on TV as much as possible.
4.) Senate democrats should convene a press conference everyday to follow the COVID-19 "task force" TV show. They should include their most articulate/charismatic/progressive voices. Create a few viral moments. Call Mitch Mcconnell a bitch. Whatever.
