A lot of creators/dj& #39;s and livestream producers are reaching out to me about live streams & copyright.

Technically you always need permission from the copyright holder before you can broadcast a song/copyright.

Both on the master side and publishing side.
Most labels will not take down or block your song although major labels have a very strict policy and will block a song if you used it without permission. (Depending on the length, usage, etc)

They can take it down Even DURING your Livestream! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ˜±" title="Face screaming in fear" aria-label="Emoji: Face screaming in fear">
If you want to live stream without any headaches you should avoid songs from majors and try to get cleared by independent labels.

Labels can whitelist your channel so you won& #39;t get any trouble.

Some labels have a catalog available you can use, so you don& #39;t need permission.
You should always test drive a live stream, for example, upload the songs in a raw mix on Youtube to see if you get any copyright issues. Or live stream on an unpublished Facebook test page (you created).
At @RevealedRec we created a form where you can apply, we can send you pre-approved music both cleared on the master and publishing side. So you don& #39;t have to worry about copyright.

You can apply here as a DJ/Brand/Creator:

There are also some platforms that are using a radio blanket license so you can use any song you want without permission.

These are platforms like Mixcloud.

Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitch don& #39;t have these kinds of licenses.
You can follow @SebastienLintz.
