Let’s talk discuss 7 Ways To Create Better Content At Home (since we’ll be here for a while)...
1. Find the “Content Hotspot” in your house. What area in your house gets the best sunlight? What corner or room can you set up a tripod and camera to shoot content?
Even if you don’t have a lot of windows in your space - early am (7-10a) and early evening (6:30p-8p) will give you bright golden light. Sit/stand in front of a window and face the light - make sure the window is behind your camera or phone and shoot or film.
Also, don’t be afraid to make a little “set” in your content hotspot. My son’s nursery gets the most light in our house because it has three windows, so guess where I film mostly? There. Added a clothing rack and stool and boom.
2. Maximize the tools you ALREADY have. You don’t need an expensive DSLR camera or pricey editing software to make great content. You just need to know how to use what you got: a smartphone.
If you have an iPhone or Android - you can do so much. Photos, videos, podcasts...and you can edit via apps. I love Lightroom mobile for photos, LumaFusion for editing video (only $30 vs. $300 Final Cut Pro) and I use GarageBand which has a mobile app!
And let me tell you - there are so many insanely great YouTube videos that share what kinda apps to use for Android or iOS like this one. https://youtu.be/OmYcTPqJnms ">https://youtu.be/OmYcTPqJn...
3. Set personal content goals for each platform you’re active on. Have a blog? On Instagram? How many times are you going to commit to posting? There’s no wrong answer, but you’re going to blog every Tuesday - COMMIT.
Promised yourself to post 6 times on your Instagram in feed every week? Then DO IT. People think there’s a magic sauce to online growth. There is. It’s called CONSISTENCY.
Set a standard for your audience - if you told them you would do something once a week, try your best to keep your word with them. It builds trust, increases engagement and GROWTH.
4. Don’t just post, SHARE. Be insanely intentionally about the content you put out there. Make your followers feel like you’re *sharing* something with them.
A post is just something you aimlessly throw up on your timeline hoping for a response. A share is a piece of content connected to your story. Allow your followers to see parts of your story.
Sharing is a way to humanize your content. And before you can monetize content, you must humanize it. Because people want to follow people. Not picture perfect posts 24/7.
