I used to entertain myself daily by conversations overheard on the NYC subway - now my daily amusement is watching how my family deals with online work/school and discussing it at dinner. Today I walked into a zoom meeting where my husband’s UK colleague was discussing oil
Markets wearing a t-shirt that just said PORN which was highlighted onscreen every time she spoke
At dinner my kids said that I looked nice which is shocking because I have two teenage daughters and they haven’t said I looked nice in over a decade - they asked why and I said I was on a video conference call with the PDQ board at NCI and they asked why didn’t I just wear a
T-shirt that said PORN
My younger daughter said her school dress policy is « just don’t show your private parts » which after further questioning she admitted that her public school has no policy but that her teacher said « just no boobs, butts or things down there »
My older daughter who is a graduating senior was totally outraged that our work and school did not have what her school had which is an « online learning policy document » which specified dress codes
Of course my younger daughter responded by saying that all women and girls should wear what they want to wear including t-shirts that sat PORN and after a long back and forth amazing me even more by replying to something to what I said by
« No wait I think I will wait until this is all over to say anything back to you about that »
