The writer from Assam, Jyotirmoy Talukdar, wrote an article in The Wire on Syed Abdul Malik Sir and how he is being the subject of a misinformation and highly malicious hate campaign by the RSS.

But, even in this article he brings a highly fallacious n harmful comparison for the Khilonjiya Muslims by comparing Malik& #39;s poem & #39;Moi Axomiya& #39; with Hafiz Ahmed& #39;s & #39;I am a Miya& #39;.

This is exactly the sort of comparison and solidarity we Khilonjiya/Assamese Muslims do not deserve or want. This is the way how liberals have reduced all Muslims in Assam as bereft of their ethnic identity.

This is exactly what we are fighting for in the onslaught of fundamentalism from all sides, our ethnic n indigenous identity.
I would like the Khilonjiya Muslims and other Assamese to be aware of such insidious campaigns which ultimately feeds into the RW propaganda.

Do not take this solidarity but fight against this too. It& #39;s anything but solidarity after all these writers have always condemned and been condescending towards us because we believe in our ethnic rather than religious identity.

I would request @saikia_kula Sir to look into this mischievous attempt to portray Malik Sir& #39;s literature n Ahmed& #39;s literature on the same plane.
