Genuine question: Plenty of UK residents kicking their heels right now, so why are companies flying in workers for fruit/veg picking/packing? Did they even try to recruit domestically? Surely many people here would be happy of the work, or are the pay and conditions too poor?
To be clear: I& #39;m all for people moving around for work, but amazed there& #39;s any need right now. There are a lot of people living in the UK needing work, so what& #39;s preventing them filling the agri vacancies? Is it their choice, or that of the employers?
Thanks for all the replies. Interesting points to think about.
