Quarantine has given me the space to think not just about the bad shit but also the blessings. This morning, I reflected on the people who& #39;ve mentored me professionally, and helped me do my job at @witchernetflix. At the top of the list: @davidschulner, my boss on DO NO HARM.
Short story: I was going through IVF when I was hired on the show. I didn& #39;t tell anyone. I was scared about how much work I& #39;d need to miss for appointments; scared that David would feel like he& #39;d wasted his writing budget on someone who was distracted by other big life things.
Eventually, the day came where I had to miss three days for an embryo transfer. So I told him. And guess what: he didn& #39;t even acknowledge the missed work. He simply wished me good luck. And ten days later, when I found out I was pregnant, he and the writers were ECSTATIC for me.
Turns out it was a complicated pregnancy, including 10 weeks& #39; bedrest. I missed a lot more than I expected. But -- not unlike quarantine -- we adapted. I wrote like a fiend from bed and turned in scripts I was incredibly proud of. (I also now have a Ben I& #39;m incredibly proud of

The show was short-lived but David taught me something that will stick with me forever: life is at the very foundation of writing. If we don& #39;t live it, we won& #39;t have anything to write about.
Also, you can be a boss and a good human being. That& #39;s what I strive for every day.

So. Who has blessed you, and changed the way you live your life?
