A thread on how the future might look for bars/pubs/restaurants. Spoiler: We are FUCKED.

On top of weeks of lockdown, there will be months of physical distancing + possibly years before we get back to normal (post vaccine?).

Here& #39;s how some others are adapting elsewhere.
Germany has been doing much better than the UK throughout all this but I& #39;m sure we& #39;ll see a similar staged return to re-opening here.

For many businesses this will be the worst of all worlds as Government financial support falls away or reduces drastically.
Those that are allowed to open will be expected to get by on significantly reduced revenue levels. We’ll go from loss-making to massively loss-making. It won’t work.

Here’s CNN on one possible timescale for physical distancing measures in the US. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/14/health/social-distancing-research-coronavirus-2022-trnd/index.html">https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/1...
Although Jason& #39;s new dream restaurant vision may yet come true. It already exists in Hong Kong. Ever an inspiration..

Will perspex screens, hygiene ambassadors and doorstep temperature checks be your new vibe..?

Hospitality is a special case because we were hit first and hardest and because physical distancing measures + fear of the virus will continue to affect our businesses well into 2021 and possibly beyond.

It’s why we need a #NationalTimeOut and a 9 month #NationalRentFree.
