taking myself back to the scene when jasper was corrupted..... it& #39;s very unlikely that steven would have been able to help even if she had let him. the fact she keeps lashing out isn& #39;t a plot excuse to take her out, it& #39;s an important character moment for her
she refuses steven& #39;s help, not just because they& #39;re enemies but because she is unable to accept that she could NEED help. she sees steven& #39;s outstretched hand and realizes, with horror, that she has become someone who others take pity on, and that means she& #39;s beyond saving
she can& #39;t accept sympathy because she has no concept of it. if "rose" is trying to "recruit" her, that means she& #39;s broken beyond repair by homeworld& #39;s standards, like all the other gems rose took in
earlier in the episode she says that everyone gets what they deserve, and in this moment you can see she& #39;s applying it to herself too
and then when she& #39;s uncorrupted and set free, the whole world has changed. there& #39;s no more need for her to fight, which was the only thing she found purpose in, but she ALSO isn& #39;t punished for essentially going rogue and attempting to murder steven multiple times
this thread isn& #39;t leading up to anything she& #39;s just one sad bitch
