Four examples of using increasingly negative space to create positive forms—aka how to draw smarter, not more
Using big negatives is a really useful for when you don& #39;t have the references you need or time to draw much detail. Just be careful of "holes" of flat black. Go with deep almost-blacks instead. And establish enough contrast so they integrate in the drawing.
Also it doesn& #39;t have to be black. You can drop out other colors the same way. The idea is to suggest form is there with minimal detail. Anyway
