I worked at a car dealership and this guy that had a crush on me in hs came in to buy a WRX. We wrote out a deal and said he had to put $15k down to qualify for the loan. He said no problem. When we pulled his credit, it wasnât the best so we explained to him that the bank needed
him to put down $20k and the car was his. He stepped outside and made a phone call and came back in 2 mins later and said that was fine. we were there last close so he wrote us a check for $20k and we gave him the keys and he drove off
The next morning when we went to cash his check, IT BALANCED. He wouldnât answer any of our phone calls. We reached out to his employer and they said he hasnât worked with them in over a year. Now we start getting really worried because he has our $30k car and didnât pay for it
I start getting pressured to find him to get the car back

We called his dad who was listed as a reference and his dad was not surprised at all. 2 hours later we get a call from the guy saying he will bring the car back to us by closing.......
he didnât show up lmao. We harassed his dad again and he ended up getting him to come to the dealership to bring us the car back a few days later. He walks in the dealership with like he did nothing wrong and gave us the keys back. He walked outside and got cuffed by cops
turns out he did this to several dealerships and they never caught him. this boy really traded in his old beat up Kia Soul for a brand new WRX. The car had 7 miles on it when he took it and we got it back with over 500 miles on it.
